Review : Summer at the Lake by Erica James
About the Book
I don't have enough words to express how good this book was for me. I read it last year but I can't resist my urge to say something about this wonderful book.
There are three main characters in the book; Esme, an elderly woman in her eighties, young Floriana & Adam. They were perfect strangers living different lives until an accident which happened to one of them bind them altogether.
So there begins a three way friendship that is lovely to read about. They show concern for each other and encourage each other to undertake hard situations. The story then drifts back to Esme's sad and unforgettable past at the Lake Como, Italy. Three of them pay an adventurous visit to Lake Como, after which a lot of dramatic events takes place.
My Thoughts
This is such a heart-warming, satisfying, romantic story full of engaging characters. Also an emotional rollercoaster. Erica James has such captivating writing skills which won't let you put down the book. I love the way how friendship developed between each of them and the way they look out for each other. The story was light but the characters were well drawn at a beautiful setting. I should say it was such an aesthetic read (if anything like that exists). Anyone who likes a feel-good story with likable characters will enjoy this for sure.
