My Thoughts
Being a teenager is complicated. And this is a complicated story of two teenage girls, Isha and Riya, and a police officer, Kamal. DARLING, YOU’RE OBSESSED is a twisted romantic suspense thriller novel with the povs of three different characters. The plot of the book, which alternates between two cities and two timeframes, is intricate and full of unexpected turns. The characters are both relatable and unique.
Riya gets abducted and it is from here that the story begins as they have to find out who is behind it. And that's not at all the main plot is another thing! There were so many twists I didn't see coming, I was pretty shook. I loved the character of Riya, she's smart and mature for her age. And above all else, I adored Kamal's shrewd and justi-loving persona. The author handled every delicate matters with a magical gentle touch because there was some conspiracies included in the story.
Contrary to my expectations, I really liked this! Definitely one of the best YA thrillers I've ever read from an Indian Author. Despite the fact that there's some clichés, the author nevertheless succeeds in creating a gripping narrative with plenty of tension and superb pacing.
