Review : I Wish I could Tell Her by Ajay K Pandey

I Wish I could Tell Her by Ajay K Pandey is a heart touching Romance Fiction. This book reminded me of another book I read a few years ago named 'The Skin I'm in'. There's a popular quotation from that book; “I’m black, real black, and if you don’t like me, too bad ‘cause black is the skin i’m in!”

This book by Ajay K Pandey is a quick read but a common story of young people coming of age. The main character Vasu is a “dark-skinned” boy who encounters bullying, grief, low self-esteem, self-love, standing up for himself, and so much more. It is powerful in the fact that it does not sugarcoat what is realistic. A person finding his own voice is one of the most beautiful things in this world.

Vasu's sister Kavya is his comfort in these matters. She is an inspiration ; an inspiration for us too. Radhika is a pretty girl whom Vasu loves, but she is friend-zoning him. As the title suggests, Vasu wishes to tell her his love. But he is not confident about his looks because of all the negativity he experienced in his life.

Of course there's sadness in this book, but most of it is fun to read! I really enjoyed from starting to end. I was also able to relate a lot because of this story happening in India and written by an Indian author.

Being born and amoral, we are prone to making mistakes and being judged by our inherent flaws and, to a lesser extent, our intuitions. We may change for the better or worse, but in some instances, these changes may be obvious differences from our natural appearance or habits. You must unconditionally love yourself for who you are, regardless of how walk, talk or look. Stop trying to fit in.
