Review : You Are Still The One
Trisha and Aditya's story is beautiful. Sad. Real. And so full of hope; not that I promise happy endings or anything—I'm not one to hand out spoilers, but this read is different on so many accounts.
'You're Still The One' by Himanshu Rai is a heartfelt love story with a lot of twists and turns. As a result of diagnosing with Hodgkin Lymphoma at the age of 17, Trisha travels to Delhi for treatment, where she meets Aditya. Army officer Aditya was a fun-loving, thoughtful person who made Trisha feel great about herself. Also, Trisha's cousin Varun and Meetu (Varun's girlfriend) , did everything in their power to maintain her optimism. But as the hours pass and obligations arise, folks must depart. As their love for one another begin to develop, Aditya receives a call from work, leaving Trisha behind. Trisha's life was dreary after Aditya left. Then, when Dakshit enters Trisha's life, things take a turn.
I really felt for these characters. Cried with them. Loved with them. Loved them. It's such a tale that it will linger with the reader for a very long time. Although I haven't read many books about cancer, I can assure you that this material is powerful.
The writing style is captivating and the language used is lucid. The story is filled with different elements like romance, happiness, pain, comfort, hope, friendship, family etc. Overall a good book to read and kill the time.
